Snow Day!

So apparently I needed to put a post up.

We had a big snow last week. Not a super huge snow, but big enough to put the city in gridlock. Magy went to pick-up Jacob from the babysitter and me from the metro at 4 PM and we got home at about 8. The babysitter is 2.7 miles from our house and the metro stop is on the way. And we never did actually make it to our house. We had to leave the car in the lot of a park and walk the rest of the way home because traffic was gridlocked on our street. That was about half a mile with me trying to keep Jacob clutched inside my jacket and him screaming at the top of his lungs and crying. It was snowing like mad and by the time we got home my little nose hairs were caking up with snowflakes.

Not a fun drive home. (I may have shouted a few choice words during that little walk too.)

And then the power went out from 9PM to 3AM.

Welcome to DC!!! We woke up the next morning and I began the walk back to find the car and try to get it home. I shoveled snow and ice for 3 hours Thursday morning trying to get the car home and getting our sidewalks cleaned up. But the baby was OK. He didn't seem phased the next day. We took him out around lunch and shot some pictures of him in his new snow suit that he got from Grammy and Grampa. Here's some pics of our front yard the morning after and some fun pics with Jacob. He'll never know what what kind of hell we went though this week. It's probably for the best!

He is walking a lot now, but couldn't get his legs in the snow. So he just scampered everywhere on his hands and knees.
